Non Fuji accessories for the Fuji X100
12/08/2012
The Fuji X100 is very nice camera for caring around and bring on trips. To make it even more useful, I have bought some practical accessories for it.
During the use of the Fuji X100, I have found some accessories I find quite useful and that I want to present in this little article.
The first thing I bought some time ago, was the Lensmate LM X100 thumbrest. It makes it more comfortable for me to hold the camera and it has the advantage that it locks the EV-dial better.
Just recently I discovered the other accessories. I have the Fuji full case for the camera, but is not quite useful. I often use the lens hood and then the case can't be closed.
So when I found the Gariz XS-CHX100M half case I was quite happy. It protects the camera but in the same way it is made in a fashion which make it possible to open the battery hatch without taking the half case out.
Because it is using the normal tripod screw point to be fixed, it offers a new screw point that makes it possible to fit a tripod plate from f.i. the Manfrotto 785B without it covering the battery hatch. Further the new screw point is some closer to the center of the lens than before. It is placed over the speaker under the camera so that it is not covered if no tripod plate is attached.
I find this quite useful. Of course it adds some weight to the camera, but not very much.
Then I bought two straps from Lance Camera Straps, one to use over the neck and one for the wrist. They come with clips that make it easy to change. Often in the street I like to carry the camera in the right hand. The wrist strap keeps it safe from falling down and allows me to move the camera fast to the eye and shoot.
The straps are coming in different colors. I thought the red color with black rings makes it quite sporty.
With these accessories I think the Fuji X100 has become a even better camera.
